Arts Council to feature fabric art in forthcoming exhibit

From BOWLING GREEN ARTS COUNCIL

The Bowling Green Arts Council (BGAC) is offering a new opportunity for artists and artisans with a “The Fabric of Our Community: An Exhibition of Textile and Fiber Arts,” May 23 through June 20, in downtown Bowling Green.

The exhibit will be on display at the BGAC ArtSpace 178 S. Main Street (rear entrance), Bowling Green, with an opening reception May 23, 5-7 pm.

Artists may submit up to two works, and the registration deadline is May 16. The registration form and more information can be found on the BGAC website. Prizes will be awarded to winners in the “Best of Show” and “Popular Choice” categories.

“I’ve seen so many fiber artists in our community,” said Robin Gerrow, president of the BGAC. “Everything from quilting, to knitting to weaving—the work they are creating is really beautiful and we want to give them a venue to showcase it.”

The BGAC is a volunteer organization working with local artists, arts organizations and supporters to provide inspiration, enjoyment and learning opportunities in the Bowling Green community. More information can be found at bgartscouncil.com.
