Local author Bettie Boswell will celebrate the premiere of her latest Christian suspense novel, “Hidden Names” Jan. 6, 11 a.m., at the Weston Library.
She will also be reading excerpts from books for children: “Lucy and Thunder,” a picture book and “Dottie’s Dream Horse,” a chapter book.
A creative activity for all will follow.
Boswell will also be signing books. Readers may purchase books from the author with cash, or order from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or any major book seller.
She is the author of a trilogy of Christian romance novels: “On Cue,” “Free To Love,” And “Hoping For Treasure.”
She had written short stories for the following anthologies: “From the Lake to the River,” “Ohio Trail Mix,” and “Christmas in Ohio.”
More short stories will be coming out in Guidepost anthologies during the next two years.
Her children’s books include three chapter books: “Skateboarding,” “Sidetracked,” and “Dottie’s Dream Horse.”
Boswell’s debut picture book is “Lucy and Thunder.”
She has contracts for two more picture books during 2024.
Bettie Boswell has always loved to read and write. That interest helped her create musicals for church, community, and students. She taught elementary music and primary classrooms for 33 years. In retirement, she decided to write and illustrate stories to share with the world. Her writing interests extend from works for children to adults and from fiction to non-fiction. She has written novels, chapter books, picture books, magazine articles, and contributed to lesson plan collections, devotionals, and short story anthologies.

She is a minister’s wife, musician, mother of two grown men, and a grandma to three grandchildren. She loves the arts and shares her doodles, and photography from her daily walks, on social media.
