Betty L. Schober, age 84, of Millbury, OH passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Mercy St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, OH. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Swanton, OH to Claude and Lydia (Mills) Schlegel. On November 3, 1856 she married Vernon V. Schober in Stony Ridge, OH and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2012. Betty was a Registered Nurse at the former Riverside Hospital, Toledo and retired in 1994. Her memberships included: St. John’s Lutheran Church, Stony Ridge, OH, RiversideHospital Alumni Association, Riverside Pastimers, Wood County Senior Citizens, Walbridge, Lake Grange #2205 and Taoist Tai Chi, Walbridge.
Betty is survived by her daughter: Luann (David) Nelsen of Cortez, CO, son: Philip (Diane) Schober of Bowling Green, OH, grandsons: Jason and Joshua Schober, great-granddaughter: Jenna Schober, great-grandson: Michael Schober, brothers: Charles (Gloria) Schlegel, Lawrence (Joyce) Schlegel and sister-in-law: Liz Schlegel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Vernon and brothers: Dale and Harlan Schlegel.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 3-7 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5520 Fremont Pike, Stony Ridge, OH with additional visitation from 10 AM until time of services. Officiating will be Rev. Cindy Ritter. Interment will be in Lake Twp. Cemetery, Walbridge, OH. A luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately following the cemetery committal services. Memorial contributions may be given to: St. John’s Lutheran Church.
