BG bands invite community to concerts and fundraising drive

From BG BAND BOOSTERS ASSOCIATION

As of Monday, the Bobcat Band fundraising drive has raised $4,140 with a goal of $10,000. The drive ends on Thursday, Oct. 16, after the marching band concert.

Every four years, the high school band goes on a trip. For the 2025-26 school year trip, they will be going to New York City in March 2026. The trip will include activities and musical education opportunities for the students.

Some of the highlights include: a show at Rockefeller Center, the chance to work with music clinicians from New York Philharmonic, a backstage tour of Radio City Music Hall, a tour of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a concert by New York Philharmonic, a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a visit to Central Park, two Broadway shows, a jazz concert at Lincoln Center, a visit to Ellis Island, a visit to the National September 11 Memorial Museum, and more.

The bands invite the public to multiple band concerts this week to wrap up the Bobcat Band Drive. Donors can experience first-hand how their financial support helps to foster musical excellence in schools.
