BG Boy Scout asks for help raising funds for Eagle project of building dog exercise equipment

A Bowling Green boy working toward his Eagle Scout rank is asking the community to help raise the funds needed to complete his project.

Damon Manders, a BGHS student and member of Boy Scout Troop 358 in Bowling Green, has set a goal of building four pieces of dog agility exercise equipment for Lucas County Canine Care & Control. Last year, the troop made treats for dogs at the center. During the visit, Damon noticed the need for some newer agility exercise equipment, which will help shelter dogs develop physically and mentally improve their overall well-being.

The materials needed to complete two dog walks and two A-frame dog agility equipment sets include:

  • 20 pieces of 1.5-inch square steel 14-gauge tubing
  • Treated lumber
  • 300 screws and nuts
  • Paint and paintbrushes

The total cost for the project is estimated at $1,522.50. Damon is working to raise the funds, which can be sent via Venmo.

Any extra funds raised will be donated to the canine facility for care of the dogs. Anyone with questions or wanting to mail a check may email Resiniah@yahoo.com or text 419-601-9939.
