The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce proudly endorses the proposed 0.15% income tax levy to support the construction of two new fire stations and the purchase of updated fire and EMS equipment for the City of Bowling Green.
This levy represents a strategic investment in the safety, sustainability, and future growth of our community. The Bowling Green Fire Division has long demonstrated proven excellence and professionalism – earning an ISO Class 2 rating and consistently maintaining the highest standards of service. However, as our city continues to grow and our existing facilities age, it is critical that we invest in modern infrastructure and updated equipment to ensure these essential services can continue to perform at the level our residents and businesses expect and deserve.
Improved emergency response times directly benefit not only our residents but also our local manufacturers, businesses, employees, and visitors. Every second matters in fire and medical emergencies, and new, strategically located stations will enhance coverage across the city, ensuring that help arrives quickly and efficiently when it is needed most.
This levy is about more than buildings and equipment – it’s about preserving the quality of life and economic vitality that make Bowling Green an exceptional place to live, work, and do business. A strong, well-equipped, and responsive Fire & EMS Division is fundamental to maintaining community confidence, protecting our workforce, and supporting the safe, sustainable growth of our city for years to come.
The Chamber encourages all voters to support this responsible and forward-looking investment in Bowling Green’s future.
