The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce will host the Annual Women in Business Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Stone Ridge Golf Club, to celebrate October as National Women Owned Small Business Month.

UBS Financial Services, sponsor of this event, would like to extend the invitation to all women who are affiliated with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce to be their guest at this luncheon at no charge.

The event began on a virtual platform in 2020 to celebrate and recognize the success and accomplishments of women in the Bowling Green Area. This will be the second year of an in-person luncheon with an anticipated attendance of 75 guests. This year’s program features three amazing women speaking on their inspirational journeys and accomplishments.

Keynote speaker for the event will be Lydia Mihalik, Ohio Director of Development, a state agency committed to empowering communities to succeed by investing in the people, places, and businesses of Ohio.

Prior to her appointment by Gov. Mike DeWine in 2019, Mihalik served as mayor of the City of Findlay. Her vision and leadership led to the revitalization of the city’s downtown, attracting new job-creators from around the world, and Findlay being recognized as the top micropolitan in the nation by Site Selection Magazine for economic development and job creation every year since 2013.

In addition, the event will feature two guest speakers: Kathy Wilhelm of Hagemeyer Fine Photography, and Sheri Gentry of Gentry Wellness, LLC.

Kathy Wilhelm and her sister, Cheryl, operate Hagemeyer Fine Photography of BG. Their studio has served the area for 35 years. She is the youth leader at Hope Lutheran, is a member and past president of BiG Connections BNI, is a member of the Clover Foundation Board and the Chamber of Commerce Board.  Kathy also works with DMB Coaching and Dr. Michael Brown, helping local businesses to be the best version of themselves. She is focused on constant improvement both personally, professionally. and for those she serves in both the studio and coaching.

Sheri Gentry is the owner of Gentry Wellness, LLC. She is retired from a four-decade long career as a physician assistant and 10 years in higher education at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and the University of Findlay.  She is the author of “No Bigger Than a Minute: Love and Hope Against All Odds,” a memoir depicting some of her time as a medical missionary in Haiti. Her passion is empowering others to their greatest potential, especially through healthy habits.

Mary Hinkelman, executive director of the Bowling Green Chamber, stated “the chamber is honored to be able to acknowledge the success of these women who have accepted the challenge to become entrepreneurs and leaders. Their stories will encourage other women to follow their dreams.”
