The United States Women’s Curling Association (USWCA) is pleased to announce that Mary Glowacki from Toledo, Ohio, member of the Bowling Green Curling Club, Bowling Green, has been chosen for the 2016 USWCA Scot Tour.
Every ten years, twenty members of the USWCA are selected to participate in a curling tour of Scotland where five United States women’s curling teams compete against Scotland’s Royal Caledonian Curling Club women curlers.
This year Mary was selected to curl on this tour. She will compete in 20 different curling clubs throughout Scotland between November 5th and 27th, 2016. The Tour begins and ends in Glasgow.
Mary Glowacki of the Bowling Green Curling club, is a past Treasurer of the United States Women’s Curling Association, as well as a Past President of the Bowling Green Curling Club.
Mary says “This is a great honor to have been selected for this tour. A former member of our club participated in the 1986 Tour and at that time, I said that this was one of my curling goals, to curl in Scotland on this tour. Another member went on the 1996 tour and again I looked forward to the time when I would be able to participate. In 2006 I sent in my application, and was not selected, so I put my mind to it and my efforts paid off when I was selected for the 2016 Tour.” The other 19 women are from across the country, from Seattle to Charlotte and in between. From Grand Forks in North Dakota, and Scottsdale, Arizona to Minnesota and Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
