From BOWLING GREEN FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA
The Bowling Green FFA chapter had a busy and successful September, highlighted by strong performances in competitions and in chapter events. The chapter’s team competed in the sub-district soil career development event (CDE), where members were tasked with judging three soil pits against the neighboring schools, Otsego, Elmwood, and Eastwood.
Eight students from each rural and urban formed two teams that moved on to district competitions. At the district, the chapter competed against all the northwest Ohio chapters that had a team. Competitors judged three pits of soil, completed a general knowledge test, and a test about the surrounding soil in Fulton County.
The rural team placed 13th and the urban team placed 4th. The urban team continued their journey and competed at the state level on Saturday, Oct. 11.
