Bowling Green Fire Division responded to a house fire in the 700 block of South Wintergarden Road on Thursday at 9:24 p.m.
The residents of the two-story home called in the fire, and had evacuated when firefighters arrived, said BGFD Capt. Lucas Ward.
The fire was contained to the kitchen, which was the room of origin for the blaze, and heavy smoke damage occurred throughout the house. The exact cause of the fire has not been determined, Ward said.
Mutual aid was provided by Medic 120 and Center Township Fire Department. Firefighters were able to leave the scene around 12:30 a.m.
