Bowling Green Police arrested a man from Eugene, Oregon, on Tuesday evening after he was reportedly driving a 2022 Chevrolet truck reported stolen in Detroit.
Elias Martinez, 25, was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.
The truck was spotted by one of the automatic license plate cameras on East Wooster Street. The driver pulled over in the Circle K parking lot downtown, and started walking west on East Wooster. Another camera downtown reportedly showed Martinez taking off running when he saw a police cruiser.
An officer located the man in a downtown parking lot. According to the police report, Martinez initially gave police an incorrect name. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
