BG man held standoff in North Summit Street home when sheriff’s office tried to serve warrant

A Bowling Green resident held a standoff against the Wood County Sheriff’s Office and Bowling Green Police Division on Monday evening in a home in the 900 block of North Summit Street.

The sheriff’s office was at the home to serve an arrest warrant for Raymond Lynn Stevens. During the standoff, which lasted about 90 minutes, the Special Response Team was called and set up a perimeter around the home.

Stevens surrendered to law enforcement, was arrested for theft and taken to Wood County Jail.

The home on North Summit Street is the same one BGPD and the Wood County Dog Warden’s Office have responded to several times over the last year and a half for reports of dogs running loose and biting several people in the community.
