To the Bowling Green Community:
Thank you for the honor of serving as your Mayor for the past eight years.
It is a bittersweet time for me and my family. On one hand, I welcome the opportunity to return to private life but conversely I will miss my daily interactions with the City’s outstanding and dedicated staff headed by Municipal Administrator, Lori Tretter, and also with the members of City Council and citizens throughout the whole of the community, including BGSU students, faculty and staff.
We are reminded every day that Bowling Green is a distinctively wonderful community with so much to offer residents and visitors alike.
It is unmistakable that the spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in BG. Residents are always extending themselves and helping in so many ways to make BG an even stronger and more attractive community. I am especially grateful to those citizens who serve so unselfishly on the City’s more than 20 boards, commissions and committees.
Please be assured that the City’s best interests will be admirably and effectively served by the next Mayor, Michael Aspacher. Good luck, Mike!
In closing, may I also take this means to extend warm holiday greetings to all and best wishes for 2020.
Mayor Richard A. Edwards
