Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is planning a week of Halloween activities, including drive thru trick or treating and Halloween drive-in movies.
- Monday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. – BG Blitz Recreation Spooky Halloween Slime Time at City Park. (The exact time block will be assigned within this window of time.) Join us for some socially distanced fun at the new Veteran’s Building at City Park. Kids and parents can schedule 10 minute blocks of time for just themselves to complete a fun and fast make and take project. Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. $4 resident/ $6 nonresident
- Tuesday, Oct. 27 – Boos-Day Virtual Halloween Costume & Jack-O-Lantern Contests. To participate in the contests, email a photo of your entries to ivan@bgohio.org with name and age of participants by Monday. Photo entry for the Jack-O-Lantern Contest should include the designers posing in the picture with their carved pumpkins. Photos for costume contest should capture the entire costume in the photo. Free to participate. Vote on favorites at www.facebook.com/bgparks.rec.
- Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 5:30 p.m. – Family Scavenger Hunt Wednesday Walk on the Wild Side at Wintergarden. Come out to Wintergarden Preserve and hike around our amazing trails while taking part in our Haunted Pumpkin Scavenger Hunt. Find all of our wild themed pumpkins in this fun outdoor scavenger hunt and win some fun Halloween prizes. Feel free to dress up in Halloween costumes for a little pre-Halloween atmosphere. Participants will be expected to adhere to proper social distancing protocols that are in place. Free to participate.
- Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. – Thrills-n-Chills Thursday Drive-Boo Trick or Treat at Carter Park. Put on the Halloween costumes, decorate your car with a fun theme, and come out to Carter Park for a drive-thru style business trick-or-treat. Costumes and car decorations are not required to participate. Free to participate. Please limit it to one drive through the park and use caution.
- Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 7:15 p.m. – Fright Night Friday Drive-In Movies at the BG Community Center. “Addams Family” (2019) rated PG movie lasting 86 minutes. Pull up into the BG Community Center Parking lot for a fun Drive-in style experience on our inflatable movie screen. We will be showing this family friendly movie starting at 7:15 p.m. Due to social distancing and avoiding obstructed views, spaces may be limited so arrive early to secure your spot. Free to attend. Another movie, “Night of the Living Dead” (1968), not suitable for younger ages, will begin at 9:15 p.m. The movie lasts 96 minutes. Due to social distancing and avoiding obstructed views, spaces may be limited . Please do not arrive before 9 p.m. as earlier movie will be letting out just before that. Free to attend.
