Bowling Green Police arrested a man Sunday around 2 a.m. for allegedly assaulting a woman on Pike Street near North Summit Street.
An officer patrolling in the area observed a woman lying in the roadway. She told police she had been struck by a man, who she pointed to walking away from the site. Police detained the man, Christian Sims, 21, Bowling Green.
The woman told police that Sims punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. Police noted she had a fat lip. A security video from the Wood County Courthouse reportedly caught the incident on camera. According to the police report, the video showed Sims striking the woman in the face then walking away as she laid on the ground.
Sims was arrested for assault and taken to Wood County Jail.
