BG Police arrest man for alleged criminal damaging of business

A Napoleon man was arrested Sunday (Oct. 5) around 3:25 a.m., after he allegedly tried to climb onto the roof of a business in the 300 block of North Grove Street.

Clayton Behnfeldt, 21, was charged with criminal damaging and criminal trespassing, and taken to Wood County Jail.

Bowling Green Police received a report of a shirtless man attempting to climb onto the roof of the business, reportedly breaking a strand of lights on the side of the building, and breaking an eavestrough as he allegedly tried to climb up the side of the building.

On the way to the business, a police officer encountered Behnfeldt at the corner of North Grove and West Wooster streets. He was reportedly highly intoxicated and denied being involved. However, the witness was driven past by police, and identified Behnfeldt as the person who damaged the building.
