Bowling Green Police arrested a Massillon man for felonious assault downtown on Sunday (Sept. 3).
Shortly after 2 a.m., police officers turning onto East Court Street saw an unconscious male, who was the victim of an assault, being carried out of the street. The fire division was called for the victim, and a police officer viewed downtown cameras to search for a suspect.
Footage from one of the cameras reportedly showed a man stomping on the head of the victim multiple times. The suspect was wearing a white shirt with big lettering on the front, black skinny jeans with rips in the knee areas, and white shoes.
Police found the suspect, Cadyn Sheegog, 18, of Massillon, walking along East Wooster Street. Sheegog reportedly said his friend was punched in the fight downtown, so he punched back.
He was taken to Wood County Jail.
The victim had a broken nose and was waiting on other tests to return.
Witnesses to the fight also identified a man wearing a ripped white shirt, who may have been involved in the fight. An officer spotted that suspect, told him to stop, and chased him when he did not stop. The male, Brogan Misner, 18, Fostoria, was apprehended in the parking lot of Circle K downtown.
Camera footage reportedly showed Misner taunting a group of males before the fight occurred. He was charged with disorderly conduct – taunting, and underage under the influence of alcohol.
