BG Police arrest man for felony burglary after resident reportedly pins suspect to ground

Bowling Green Police responded to a reported burglary in progress early this morning (7/15/24) to find the suspect pinned down in the front yard.

Police were called around 3 a.m. to the 300 block of South Main Street. A resident there told police he was asleep in his bedroom when he awoke to find a man standing in his room.

The resident reportedly told the man to get out, and he left the bedroom and stood by the side door. While on the side porch, he told the man he was going to call the police. The two men began wrestling on the porch, and the resident punched the man.

When the intruder reportedly tried to enter the house again, the resident pulled the man out of the house and pinned him to the ground in the front lawn.

Another resident of the apartment heard his roommate calling for help, and called police.

Jesus Cardenas, 29, of Bowling Green, was arrested for felony burglary and taken to Wood County Jail.
