BG Police arrest man on bicycle for OVI and possession of cocaine

A Bowling Green man was arrested for OVI on a bicycle Sunday (Sept. 14) around 3 a.m. A caller notified BG Police of a man who appeared to be intoxicated on a bike in the downtown area.

When an officer arrived at the 100 block of East Wooster Street, he observed Enrique Gomez-Perez, 21, reportedly trying to get on the bicycle. Once on the bike, he allegedly made a U-turn, crossing lanes, with no lights on the bicycle.

Gomez-Perez appeared to be heavily intoxicated, with test results reportedly showing a BAC of 0.225.

Police reportedly found a hashish vape pen, two baggies of a white powdered substance, and a rolled up $20 bill. According to the police report, when asked about the substance, Gomez-Perez allegedly told police – multiple times – it was cocaine that he occasionally uses.

He was arrested for OVI and possession of cocaine, and taken to Wood County Jail.
