Bowling Green Police Division arrested two 17-year-olds Monday after finding the vehicle they had driven from Columbus had five firearms, drugs and a stolen license plate.
The suspects were taken to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
Police were alerted shortly after midnight about a stolen license plate hit on East Wooster Street, headed westbound from Interstate 75. An officer found the car in the parking lot at Fricker’s, where an employee said the two males and a woman with a baby hurried out when they noticed police in the parking lot.
The group was located in BW3’s. The driver, who had no driver’s license, reportedly told police the vehicle contained guns and drugs. In the driver’s door compartment, police reportedly found a loaded pistol with six rounds in the magazine, and behind it was suboxone. In the rear pouch of the driver’s seat, officers reportedly found a loaded pistol with 23 rounds in the magazine.
Three long guns were reportedly located in the trunk – a black powder rifle, shotgun, and AR-15 rifle with a loaded magazine and a scope.
One of the teens was arrested for driving without a license, improper handling of firearms, drug abuse and receiving stolen property.
The other juvenile male was arrested for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
The 18-year-old woman and her baby were both released to her mother, from Columbus.
