Bowling Green Police Division charged eight people with assault or fighting in four separate incidents over the past weekend.
The first occurred on Friday (Aug. 29) around 2 p.m. in the 1600 block of East Wooster Street, when a woman reported to police that another woman, Lauren Trevino, 33, of Risingsun, punched her in the face.
Trevino told police she was eastbound on East Wooster, with her children in the car, when the other woman began “riding her rear bumper.” The two began yelling at each other, and the other woman followed Trevino into the entrance of a business.
When police tried to talk with both women, the two reportedly began threatening and cursing at each other. Based on the redness and swelling on one woman’s cheek, Trevino was cited for assault.
Then on Saturday (Aug. 30) around 2:22 a.m., police were called to a fight in the 100 block of North Main Street. Three people were cited for disorderly conduct – fighting.
Alfred Gould, 45, of Toledo, reportedly called Abigail Cornell, 19, of Toledo, a foul name, leading her boyfriend, Nicari Johnson, 22, of Toledo, to defend her. Downtown camera footage showed that all three participated in the physical altercation.
Later on Saturday, around 3:18 a.m., police responded to a report of men fighting in a parking lot in the 300 block of East Wooster Street. A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend, Nathan Dress, 22, of Port Clinton, called her “ugly,” and another man, Cdaryas McDonald, 20, of Fremont, came to her defense.
McDonald allegedly punched Dress in the face, and a fight began.
And on Sunday, shortly before midnight, police responded to a fight in an alleyway next to Circle K downtown. Tyrelle Altvater, 18, of Findlay, and Jaylan Sanchez, 21, of Findlay, were both charged with assault and taken to Wood County Jail.
Camera footage showed the victim being approached from behind and being struck in the back of his head with a closed fist. The footage reportedly showed one of the men continuing to strike the victim with a closed fist while he was on the ground. It also caught images of the other man kicking the victim several times while he was on the ground.
The victim was covered in blood, according to the police report, his lower lip was swollen, and the area above his right eye was swollen with a large cut.
The camera footage also showed the suspects getting in a black sedan in City Lot 4. Police found the car still in the parking lot with one suspect inside and one walking in the parking lot.
