BG Police cite five men for fighting in city parking lot downtown

Five men were cited for disorderly conduct downtown early today (12/3) when a verbal argument reportedly turned physical after one of them bared his buttocks at the others.

Bowling Green Police Division was called to the city parking lot off East Court Street at 12:30 a.m., for a fight between two groups of men that was no longer in progress.

Officers issued the following citations: John Pickens, 24, Caleb Eckels, 24, Dominic Gemenez, 24, and Zorion Burres, 31, for disorderly conduct and fighting; Anthony Phillips, 26, for disorderly conduct and taunting. All the men are from Bowling Green, except Eckels who is from Whitehouse.

According to the police report, an argument between the two groups of men began in a bar, and later continued when they left another bar on North Main Street.

Video from the downtown cameras reportedly showed Phillips yelling at three of the males, then pulling down his pants and exposing his buttocks to them. As the men approach him, Phillips reportedly runs away.

At that point, Pickens and Burres begin to argue, then begin to wrestle. Pickens is reportedly seen punching Burres in the face multiple times as he is lying on the ground.

The two men then shake hands and go separate ways.

While Pickens and Burres were fighting, cameras reportedly caught Eckels and Gemenez continuing to chase Phillips. Phillips is allegedly seen to stop running long enough that he punches Eckels in the face.

Phillips then reportedly called police to report that he and Burres were jumped in the parking lot. Burres was taken to Wood County Hospital for facial injuries and a dislocated shoulder. He reportedly told police he did not want to press charges.
