BG Police cite woman for endangering children after finding lost 4-year-old girl

A woman was cited for endangering children after a 4-year-old girl was found wandering in the 800 block of South Main Street on Sunday (Sept. 21) around 9:18 a.m.

Bowling Green Police responded after citizens reported the lost child. The girl told police she had two brothers and a sister, and she believed she could find her home, if an officer walked her home. They walked down South Main Street to Gypsy Lane Road and could not identify her home.

Police took the girl to the police station, and gave her crayons, a coloring book, a sticker book, and a teddy bear.

Wood County Job and Family Services was contacted, and it was decided the police should post a photo of the lost girl on Facebook. Callers recognizing the child contacted police.

The mother was identified as Brianna Strunk, 21, of Bowling Green, who has a warrant out of Perrysburg Police Department.

Strunk told police she had gone to a Dollar General store in Toledo to get baby formula, and that someone was supposed to watch her daughter. Police contacted that person, who reportedly said she was not asked to watch the child.

Two other children were with family members. Strunk took two of the children home, with police transporting one back to the apartment since Strunk reportedly had no booster seat for her.
