Bowling Green Police responded Saturday (Aug. 5) to an alleged assault at a nursing home facility in the city.
An employee in the reception office reported she had been getting ready to leave for the night when an 84-year-old resident came into the office and asked for her help. She reportedly said she was leaving, but that she would find someone to help him.
The resident reportedly became upset, began shouting, and grabbed the employee by the throat and pushed her backwards, causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground, the employee reported that the resident continued to choke her and slap her face.
A co-worker came into the office and helped the woman up from the floor. Another employee then came in and tried to hold back the resident as the other women tried to get out of the room. That employee was reportedly thrown to the floor by the resident.
Police photographed injuries and are investigating the incident.
