Bowling Green Police Division is investigating a reported incident of attempted rape that occurred Sunday evening.
A woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by a male friend in her vehicle. She told police that she had been in communication with the man for several months but had never met him in person. The woman said she pulled over into the parking lot of an apartment complex when he asked her to do so.
The man reportedly climbed on top of her, and began kissing and choking her, despite her repeatedly saying “no.”
Police noted large bruises on her neck, red markings on the front of her throat, plus bruising on her breast and right inner thigh.
A sexual assault kit was collected from Wood County Hospital, and the clothes the woman was wearing during the incident were placed into evidence. She gave police a description of the man, and the incident is under investigation.
Police set up an extra patrol of the woman’s residence.
