Two Bowling Green businesses reported counterfeit bills being used at their stores on Friday (July 19).
Bowling Green Police responded to a business in the 800 block of South Main Street, at 7:23 p.m., after an employee reported a customer suspected of using counterfeit bills. The male had reportedly used counterfeit bills at the store last week to purchase a car battery.
Employees at the shop called police and reportedly tried to stall the suspect, who attempted to purchase another battery. However, the suspect reportedly grabbed the bills and fled from the store.
Police were unable to locate the suspect.
Later that same evening, at 9:44, police were called to a business in the 900 block of West Poe Road, after two customers allegedly used counterfeit $50 bills. One man came into the shop and ordered, while the other man ordered from the drive-thru window. Both reportedly ordered one item and each paid with a fake $50 bill. Both reportedly got into a white SUV and left.
The business was able to give police photographs of the men.
