Bowling Green Police Division responded to a report of a man impersonating an officer on July 30, around 3:14 a.m.
A woman living in the 500 block of Frazee Avenue, called to report an unknown man approached her and her roommate while they were walking in the parking lot of their apartment complex.
The woman reported the man was white and wearing a plain white T-shirt. The man reportedly told the women that he was a deputy with the sheriff’s office, and then began asking them questions about where they were going and what they were doing.
When the women told him they were walking back to their apartment, the man reportedly insisted on walking with them to make sure they made it safely. He never showed a badge or identification, according to the women.
The man reportedly followed the women all the way to their apartment door. One of the women told police that she then slammed the door in the man’s face and called the police.
Police units searched the area for the man but were unable to locate him.
