Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group (BG SONG) is a nonprofit community development corporation engaged in improving housing in the City of Bowling Green.
The update to the city’s zoning code in 2023 gives us an exciting opportunity to envision the creation of more healthy, sustainable, and inclusive housing within the city. BG SONG, in partnership with the City of Bowling Green, is bringing together folks from across the community to explore common interests on housing.
Your unique insight and ideas are needed as we gather Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Bowling Green Training and Community Center, 1245 W. Newton Road.
The meeting is designed to help everyone:
- Understand the challenges, opportunities, and current state of housing and transportation in Bowling Green.
- Hear from diverse stakeholders in order to build a guiding coalition.
- Create a vision for Bowling Green’s neighborhoods that is vibrant, inspiring, and hopeful.
- Prioritize key actions we can take together in the coming year.
Your participation—whether you’re a person who rents or owns their home, a townie or student, a developer, realtor, lender, rental property owner, an advocate for people who experience homelessness or have other housing challenges, an elected official, a city, county or BGSU administrator—will contribute to many voices representing the diverse interests and backgrounds that we hope to bring to the discussion. Housing is a pressing issue affecting Bowling Green’s future: you can make a real difference.
