BG SONG to host showcase featuring BGSU students’ housing design proposals

From BOWLING GREEN SAVE OUR NEIGHBORHOODS GROUP

Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group (BG SONG) invites the community to a design studio showcase exploring how architecture can support new cooperative forms of living and care by addressing the need for diverse, affordable housing in Bowling Green. The event, presented in partnership with Bowling Green State University’s School of the Built Environment, will feature student visions that imagine sustainable, connected, and community-centered ways of living in Bowling Green.

The showcase will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at First Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Church St. Community members are encouraged to drop in, view the designs, and speak with the students about their work.

The students, members of Professor Lindsey Brusoe’s design studio class, were challenged to envision a new future for the former Sentinel-Tribune property on East Poe Road, located within one of the city’s mixed-use neighborhood zones. The student proposals reimagine the site as a vibrant, well-integrated neighborhood that fosters connection, adaptability, and mutual care.
