A BGHS Baseball Camp is being held on Feb. 8, inside the Woodland Mall, at 1234 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
The camp will feature a skills clinic led by several distinguished BGHS alumni, including Andy Tracy, Andy Fisher, Mark Carek, Denny Smith and Tucker Craft. These coaches bring invaluable experience, having played baseball at the collegiate and even MLB levels. Current BGHS players and coaches, along with other local baseball greats, will also be assisting with the camp.
Registration is open now at www.bghsbaseball.com, and it’s recommended that families sign up as soon as possible. Organizers want to ensure they order enough camp T-shirts and get the correct sizes for everyone participating.
The fundamentals clinic is for players of all skill levels. Instruction will cover throwing, pitching, hitting and base running. Players should come with their hats, gloves, baseball attire and turf or gym shoes.
Beyond the fun and skill-building, this clinic is also a fundraiser supporting the high school baseball program. Woodland Mall has donated the space and time to make this event possible.
The cost for the camp is $55, which includes a camp T-shirt for pre-registrants.
Session 1 runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and is intended for all ages. Registration for the first session begins at 8 a.m. Session 2 runs from 1 to 4 p.m., for ages 12-18, and covers advanced pitching, catching and hitting. Registration for the second session begins at 12:30 p.m.
