Bobcat Varsity Baseball grabs lead in sixth inning for win over Napoleon
The Bowling Green High School Varsity Baseball team took the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Napoleon Varsity Wildcats on Tuesday (5/16). The Bobcats were down 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning when Caleb Kunstmann doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Bowling Green built a four-run lead in the first inning and then held off Napoleon’s charge. The Wildcats scored six runs in the failed comeback on an error, a single by Trey Rubinstein, a walk by Devin Dietrich, a single by Blake Wolf, and a single by Lucas Gerken.
Napoleon took an early lead in the second inning. Wolf singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Will Brose pitched the Bobcats to victory. The lefty surrendered six runs on seven hits over six and a third innings, striking out three. Logan Neifer threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Rubinstein, on the pitcher’s mound for Napoleon, went one-third of an inning, allowing four runs on two hits. Owen Espinoza and Luke Hardy entered the game from the bullpen, throwing six and a third innings and one-third of an inning, respectively.
Brock Hastings led the Bowling Green Bobcats with three hits in five at bats.
Bobcat Boys Tennis doubles team is runner-up at sectional tournament
Bowling Green High School Boys Tennis #2 doubles team of Mathias Drumm and Theo Bock finished as runners-up in the Findlay 1 and 2 sectional tournament in Findlay on Saturday (5/13).
In the semifinal match vs. Lima Shawnee’s #2 doubles team of Saleh Mohammed and Seth Grieshop, Drumm and Bock were able to use big serves and touch volleys to go out to a 6-3 first-set win. In the second set, they were able to get a couple of early breaks of serve to lead 4-1. Bock’s serve was broken late in the set, but Drumm was able to serve out the match 6-2.
In the final vs. Lima Shawnee’s #1 doubles team of Mason Stahl and Mac Davis Drumm started serving the match and was up 40-15. Lima Shawnee fought back hard with great groundstrokes and deft volleys to break serve in the first game after 3 deuces. All games in the first set went to deuce but Lima Shawnee was able to win the advantage points and win the set 6-0. In the second set, Drumm and Bock were finally able to hold serve but still were down 5-1. They were able to break serve and hold but ultimately succumbed to the constant pressure and lost 6-3.
Theo Bock and Mathias Drumm will play in districts on Thursday (5/18) at Port Clinton High School. Play starts with singles matches at 10 a.m.
BG Bobcat Softball defeats Southview 14-9
The Bowling Green High School Varsity Softball team had 17 hits and 14 runs for a 14-9 win over Southview Friday (5/12) at Southview High School.
The Bobcats’ offense was strong throughout the game, starting the first two innings with two and three runs, respectively. They added three in the fourth inning, five in the sixth, and wrapped it up with a run in the seventh.
T. Rothenbuehler had a home run, and a double and drove in six runs. Z. Ziems had two doubles, two runs and two RBIs. C. Kroegel was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs. S. Konecny was 3-for-5 with four runs and an RBI. H. Yarger, who was hit by a pitch, was 3-for-4 with two runs. Irvin doubled and scored. Also scoring for BG were M. Kramp and B. Wilhelm.
Pitchers Ziems (five innings) and Kramp (two innings) combined for seven strikeouts, two walks and five errors. They gave up 11 hits and nine runs, including one home run by Southview’s Z. Katafias, who also had three RBIs.
Bobcat Boys Tennis doubles team advances to sectional semifinals
The Bobcat Boys Tennis doubles team of Mathias Drumm and Theo Bock advanced to the doubles semifinals with a 6-0,6-0 win over Wapakoneta’s Gabriele Pepi and Gannoon Casebolt in the Findlay 2 sectional held at the Armstrong sports complex at the University of Findlay. They advance to face the Lima Shawnee #2 doubles team of Salah Mohammed and Seth Grieshop.
In other sectional play for the Bobcats:
First singles Aaron Hershberger made it out of the Round of 16 by defeating Lima Shawnee’s third singles Jackson Carpenter 6-2,6-3. In the quarterfinals, Hershberger fell to Wapakoneta’s #2 singles Aiden Bellman, 6-1,6-2.
BG’s #2 singles Zack Mangan lost to Aiden Bielefeld, Perrysburg’s #2 singles, 6-2,6-3.
Paul Guo, third singles for Bowling Green, was defeated by Wapakoneta’s first singles Connor Coffey, 6-0,6-0.
BG’s second doubles team of Jonas Kendrick and Robby Seifert won their Round of 16 defeating Lima Senior’s second doubles team of JJ Weber and Matt Holthouser 6-0,6-0, and lost to Shawnee’s first doubles team of Mason Stahl and Mac Davis, 6-0,6-0.

The closest match of the day was at second doubles. Kendrick and Seiffert were ahead in both sets and were not able to finish either set. They were up 4-1 in the first set and gave up 6 straight games to lose the set. Kendrick and Seiffert were up 5-4 in the second set with a set point. They lost that game but were able to force a tie-break. In the tie-break, McCashen and DeWitt were able to start hot with a great return and two great serves. They kept the momentum going and went ahead 6-1. Kendrick and Seiffert were able to get a couple of points before losing on a great volley by McCashen.
The loss brings Bowling Green to 9-7 on the season.
BG Bobcat Baseball drops game to Northview Wildcats
The Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat to Northview Varsity Wildcats on Monday (5/8). The game was tied at two with Northview batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for the Wildcats.
In the first inning, Northview got their offense started when Garrett Zimmermann singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Bowling Green evened things up at two in the bottom of the fifth inning when Alec Ross singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Roman McKarus got the win for the Wildcats. He went eight innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out five.
Jack Brown was on the pitcher’s mound for Bowling Green. The righty allowed seven hits and two runs over six innings, striking out four. Logan Neifer and Drake Joseph entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning, respectively.
Ross, Braden Loomis, Rhett Winger and Caleb Kunstmann each collected one hit to lead the Bobcats.
Northview tallied 10 hits on the day with Josh Sprenger, Alex Dupree, Benny Seals and Zimmermann each collecting multiple hits.
BGHS Softball wins doubleheader v. Notre Dame Academy
The Bowling Green High School Softball team won both games in an away doubleheader against Notre Dame Academy on Saturday (5/6). The scores were 13-2 in the first game and 12-4 in the second game.
The Bobcats had 13 runs on 15 hits in the first game. M. Oates was 3-for-3 with two runs and 2 RBIs; S. Trimpey was 2-for-4 with one run and two RBIs; M. Kramp had a run and two RBIs and Z. Ziems was 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. T. Rothenbuehler doubled, had two runs and one RBI. H. Yarger had a hit and an RBI and K. Rashley had an RBI. Four Bobcats were hit by pitches including Rothenbuehler, Oates, Rashley and C. Kroegel.

In the second game, Rashley and Ziems pitched, three and four innings respectively, and combined for five strikeouts, one walk, three errors and four runs on five hits. The score was 3-3 in the third inning, but the Bobcats scored 7 runs to Notre Dame’s 1 in the fifth inning and added two more in the seventh inning for the final 12-4.
For the Bobcats, Konecny was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. Ziems and Rothenbuehler each scored two runs and had one RBI. Oates was again 3-for-3 with a run. Yarger had a run and two RBIs. K. Brown and Kramp each had a run and an RBI.
Bowling Green HS Boys Tennis defeats Archbold
The Bowling Green High School Boys Tennis team defeated Archbold 5-0 in a non-league tennis match on Thursday (5/4).
The closest match of the day was at second doubles. Jonas Kendrick and Robby Seiffert cruised through the first set 6-1. Kendrick and Seiffert’s serves seemed to go awry in the second set while Jesse Nofziger and Jay Riley hit some great volleys and overheads and took the second set 6-4. In the third set match tie-break, Kendrick and Seiffert got out to a quick lead with big serves and deft volleys, 7-2. They were able to hold on and win the tie-break with a great volley by Kendrick to the open court, 10-5.

Bowling Green Varsity baseball shuts out Napoleon
Jack Brown had all the right stuff on Wednesday for the Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats, allowing zero runs and besting Napoleon Wildcats by a score of 3-0 in a home game on Wednesday (5/3).
The pitching was strong on both sides. Brown struck out seven, while Trey Rubinstein sat down five.
Bowling Green fired up the offense in the second inning, when Rhett Winger singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Napoleon was a single by Parker Woods in the fifth inning.
Brown was credited with the victory for the Bobcats. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out seven and walking zero.
Rubinstein was on the pitcher’s mound for the Wildcats. Rubinstein lasted six innings, allowing six hits and three runs while striking out five.
Brock Hastings led Bowling Green with three hits in three at bats.
Bobcat varsity softball edges out Napoleon 4-3
The Bowling Green High School Softball team held off Napoleon in the seventh inning to win 4-3 in a home game Wednesday (5/3).
Pitcher M. Kramp got the win with 16 strikeouts for Bowling Green. She walked three and gave up three runs and five hits, with one error.
The Bobcats were on the scoreboard first with four runs in the first five innings before Napoleon scored a run in the sixth and two runs in the seventh.
Bowling Green’s S. Trimpey was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Z. Ziems had a double and two RBIs. Also scoring for the Bobcats were T. Rothenbuehler and B. Wilhelm.

The closest match of the day was at 2nd singles. Bowling Green’s Zack Mangan and Perrysburg’s Caleb Stein were evenly matched. Stein had big serves and powerful topspin groundstrokes. Mangan patiently kept the ball in play until there was a short ball when he could attack the net. The first set was close until Mangan got a break of serve and hold to win the set, 6-4. In the second set, Mangan was able to take advantage of a few errors and get to a 5-2 lead. Stein was able to string together some power groundstrokes to break Mangan and make the score 5-4. With Stein serving, the game went back and forth at deuce. After a double fault by Stein, Mangan charged the net and was barely able to get his racket on a great low shot. The volley barely went over the net and bounced twice for the winner.
The win brought Bowling Green to 8-6 on the season and 5-2 in the Northern Lakes League. The victory was Bowling Green Boys Tennis team’s first over Perrysburg in over 10 years.
Bowling Green Varsity Baseball can’t catch up to Anthony Wayne
The Bowling Green Varsity Baseball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-7 loss to Anthony Wayne Varsity Generals on Thursday (4/27).
The Generals opened up scoring in the first inning when Cody Keller drove in one on a single. Anthony Wayne also scored on a double by Jack Behnfeldt and a sacrifice fly by Drew Pfundt in the first inning.
Bowling Green collected eight hits and Anthony Wayne Varsity Generals had 15 in the high-scoring affair.
Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats scored four runs in the fourth inning. Alec Ross and Brock Hastings all drove in runs in the frame.
Anthony Wayne scored four runs in the third inning. Pfundt, Zack Carpenter, Bryce Anderson and Behnfeldt all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Mitch Harder was on the mound for Anthony Wayne. He allowed six hits and six runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one.

The Bowling Green Varsity Baseball team stayed in it until the end, but Southview Cougars pulled away late in a 10-5 victory on Wednesday (4/26).
The game was tied at five with Southview batting in the top of the seventh when Danny Nusbaum drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the first inning, the Bobcats got their offense started, scoring a run on a stolen base.
Bowling Green tallied three runs in the second inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Rhett Winger and Brock Hastings, who drove in runs.
In the top of the sixth inning, Southview tied things up at five. An error scored one run for the Cougars.
Avery Offenburg was credited with the victory for Southview. Offenburg surrendered five runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three. Ryan Deshetler threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Will Brose started the game for Bowling Green. The southpaw went five-and-a-third innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking zero. Drake Joseph threw one and two-thirds innings in relief.
The Bobcats racked up nine hits. Jack Brown, Hastings and Braden Loomis all managed multiple hits. Brown led Bowling Green with three hits in four at-bats. Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Hastings led the way with four.
Southview scattered 11 hits in the game. Offenburg, Drew Young and John Thompson each had multiple hits. In the field, the Cougars didn’t commit a single error.
Bowling Green Varsity Softball blanks Southview
The Bowling Green Varsity Softball team had a good offensive game posting seven runs to beat Southview 7-0 on Wednesday (4/26).
Bobcat Z. Ziems hit four doubles in four at bats with three RBIs and one run. S. Trimpey was 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. She also was hit by a pitch, had a stolen base and was caught stealing. S. Konecny had a hit and an RBI and T. Rothenbuehler was 1-for-3 with a run.
For Southview, Katafigs, Z. Jabobs and Bestetler each had a hit.
Ziems pitched for Bowling Green and recorded nine strikeouts and only gave up three hits and one walk.
Bobcat Varsity Softball falls to Perrysburg
The Bowling Green High School Varsity Softball team lost 13-3 to Perrysburg in a league game at home Monday (4/25).
Scoring for the Bobcats were S. Trimpey, who was 2-for-4 with an RBI, T. Rothenbuehler, 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base, and S. Konecny.
C. Kroegel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. She also reached when she was hit by a pitch.M, Kramp and Z. Ziems each pitched three innings for the Bobcats,
Perrysburg scored in each of the innings, including six runs in the third inning. Leading the team was Miller who was 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and five RBIs.

Bowling Green High School Varsity Baseball had a tough day on Friday (4/21) losing to Anthony Wayne 0-7.
One bright spot for the Bobcats was a double by Brock Hastings in the first inning.
Braden Curry was the winning pitcher for Anthony Wayne. Curry lasted six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out seven. Dom Carlson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Mason Towns was the winning pitcher for Archbold. The lefthander lasted six innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out six. Krayton Kern threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Will Brose was on the mound for Bowling Green. The southpaw lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three. Braden Freyman threw three innings in relief.
The Bobcats tallied six hits in the game. Rhett Winger and Logan Neifer all managed multiple hits for Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats. Neifer and Winger each had two hits to lead the team.
Archbold totaled nine hits in the game. Kern, Brian Burrowes, and Siegel all had multiple hits for Archbold. Kern led Archbold with three hits in four at-bats.
The Bobcats are 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the NLL.

S. Trimpey and K. Rashley each had a hit for the Bobcats.

The Bowling Green High School Lacrosse team defeated Anthony Wayne 14-9 in a match on Tuesday (4/18).
Walk-off seals win for Northview against Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats
The game came down to the last play, but the Bowling Green High School Varsity Baseball team was on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat by Northview on Wednesday (4/19).
The game was tied at four with Northview batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Northview. The Bobcats lost despite out-hitting Northview eight to three.
Bowling Green got things moving in the second inning, when Brent Boston doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Bobcats tied things up at four when Braden Loomis singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Northview scored three runs in the third inning. Josh Sprenger, Riley Ames and Garrett Zimmerman each had RBIs in the frame.
Roman McKanus pitched Northview to victory. The southpaw lasted one and one-third innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Austin Patnode threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Logan Neifer took the loss for Bowling Green. The righthander allowed zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, walking one.
Nate Kress started the game for the Bobcats. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out seven. Zimmerman started the game for Northview and allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six.
The Bobcats racked up eight hits. Brock Hastings and Loomis had multiple hits for Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats, each collecting two hits to lead the team.
Bobcat Varsity Softball loses to Springfield
The Bowling Green High School Varsity Softball team lost an away game to Springfield 0-8 Tuesday (4/18).
The Bobcats were scoreless on four hits. Z. Ziems was 2-for-3 and S. Trimpey and M. Oates were both 1-for-3.
Springfield had a big fourth inning with seven runs scored. For Springfield, Littin, Crowley and Yackee each hit homeruns. Wilkin was 2-for-4 with one run scored. Also scoring for Springfield were Hall, Schlachter, Rompf and Espino.
Ziems was on the mound for four innings. She struck out three and gave up seven hits and eight runs. M. Kramp pitched two innings and had four strikeouts and gave up one hit.
Pitchers for Springfield were Yackee, who struck out eight and gave up three hits, and Chappetta, who had two strikeouts and gave up one hit.
BGHS Boys Tennis holds Napoleon scoreless
The Bowling Green High School Boys Tennis team defeated Napoleon High School 5-0 in a home match at Bowling Green State University Keefe courts.

BGHS Boys Tennis places third in doubles tournament
BGHS Boys Tennis participated in the 2nd annual Joe Taylor Perkins Doubles Tournament on Saturday (4/15) at Sandusky Perkins High School.
The format was four flights of doubles teams playing a pro-set to eight games. The following teams participated: Ashland, Bowling Green, Clyde, Huron, Mayfield, Perkins, Sandusky and Sandusky St. Mary’s.
In the first doubles flight, Mathias Drumm and Aaron Hershberger of Bowling Green advanced to the final with victories over Sandusky St. Mary’s (8-2) and Ashland (8-4). In the final they used big serves and precision volleys to take a lead 7-3. They finished as flight champions, 8-5.
In the second doubles flight, Jonas Kendrick and Paul Guo of Bowling Green won the first-round match 8-2 over Sandusky and advanced to a semi-final versus Perkins. In the semi final, the match was back and forth to 7-6 with Perkins ahead. Guo/ Kendrick had a couple of double faults and missed volleys that led to the Perkins team breaking serve and taking the match 8-6. In the 3rd place match, Guo and Kendrick seemed to lose a little energy and fell 8-4 for a fourth-place finish.
In the third doubles flight, Robby Seiffert and Caleb Goff of Bowling Green cruised in the first- and second-round matches versus Huron (8-1) and Mayfield (8-3). In the final versus Ashland, Goff and Seiffert couldn’t seem to find enough ways to get it past Ashland’s net players and Ashland cruised to a 8-4 victory for the championship.
In the fourth doubles flight, Trey Ladler and Corin McMurray of Bowling Green struggled against a good Perkins team in the first round and lost 8-3. In the consolation bracket, Ladler/ McMurray played Sandusky St. Mary’s and lost 10-8 in a tie-break played at 7-7. Bowling Green had match points and could not capitalize on the chances.
Overall, Ashland was the tournament team champion with 80 points. Sandusky Perkins finished in second with 63 points. Bowling Green finished in third place with 60 points and received a trophy.
BGHS Varsity Softball loses to Napoleon
The Bowling Green Bobcat Varsity Softball team rallied in the seventh inning to come within one run against the Napoleon Wildcats. They ended up losing 2-3 in the game played Friday (4/14) at Napoleon.
The Wildcats scored one run each in the first, fourth and fifth innings before Bobcats M. Kramp and T. Rothenbuehler each scored in the top of the seventh inning. Rothenbuehler was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Pitching for the Bobcats was Kramp. In six innings, she had seven strikeouts, two walks, and allowed three runs on three hits.

The Bobcat Varsity Softball team ended its recent win streak, losing to Anthony Wayne 0-10 on Monday (4/10).
S.Trimpey had two hits off Anthony Wayne pitcher B. Patchen; she was the sole Bobcat to get any hits in the game.
Pitching for Bowling Green was Z. Ziems, who had three strikeouts and two walks, allowing 10 hits and seven earned runs.
Bobcat Boys Tennis loses in close match v. Defiance
The Bobcat Boys Tennis team played a non-league away match against Defiance losing 2-3 on Monday (4/10).
The best match of the day was the second doubles match of Bowling Green’s Trey Ladler and Corin McMurray playing Jack Hanson and Dylan Johnson of Defiance. After a slow start to the first set, with Defiance winning 6-1, Ladler and McMurray came out strong in the second set taking it 7-6. In the third set, Ladler/McMurray had two match points 5-4 before falling to Hanson/Johnson 7-4 in the third set tie-break.

BGHS softball takes two in doubleheader over Willard
The Bowling Green High School Softball team racked up 27 points in a doubleheader against Willard at home on Saturday (4/8), winning 11-1 and 16-6.
Starting on the mound for the Bobcats, Z. Ziems struck out seven, walked one, and kept Willard scoreless in three innings. K. Rashley wrapped up the final two innings of the first game with two strikeouts, no walks, allowing four hits and no earned runs.
S. Konecny, S. Trimpey, M. Oates, B. Wilhelm and M. Kramp each hit doubles. Trimpey was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Kramp was 2-for-2. Kroegel, Trimpey, Rashley, Oates, Wilhelm and Kramp each had stolen bases.
Bowling Green scored two runs in the first inning and then scored three runs each in the second, third and fourth innings. The game was called after the top of the fifth for the mercy rule.
The Bobcats had 17 hits and 16 runs in the second game of the doubleheader. Trimpey, Konecny, Wilkie and T. Rothenbuhler had doubles.
Trimpey was 4-for-4 and three RBI. Konecny was 3-for-4 with three RBI. Oates and Ziems were both 2-for-4 with one RBI. M. Bernal and Kramp had base hits.
Nine players had stolen bases including three for Ziems; two for Trimpey, Kramp, Kroegel and Rothenbuhler, and one each for Oates, Konecny, Rashley and Wilhelm.
Rashley and Kramp pitched in the second game, combining for seven strikeouts, two walks, one earned run, and they gave up three hits.
Bowling Green Boys Tennis beats Northview 3-2
The Bowling Green Boys Tennis team defeated Northview 3-2 in a Northern Lakes League match at Northview High School on Thursday (4/6).
The Bobcats edged out Northview with wins by second singles Mathia Drumm, third singles Zack Mangan and first doubles Jonas Kendrick and Paul Guo.
The best match of the day was third singles Mangan against Northview’s Alex Kasee. Mangan cruised through the first set, capitalizing on errors by Kasee. In the second set, Kasee made some adjustments, came to the net more and won the second set. Mangan overcame some tightness and tried to move Kasee a little more in the third set and held on for a 6-4 victory, which clinched the team match.

Varsity Bobcats Baseball’s early lead sets stage for victory over Maumee
An early lead helped the Bowling Green Varsity Baseball team defeat Maumee 12-4 on Thursday (4/5).
The Bobcats scored on singles by Jack Brown and Brent Boston in the first inning, singles by Nate Kress and Braden Freyman in the second inning, and a walk by Brown in the second inning.
Bowling Green took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Kress singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run; Logan Neifer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; Brown drew a walk, scoring one run; and Freyman singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Brown led the Bobcats to victory on the mound. The righty surrendered four runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Neifer and Will Brose entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Lane Franklin toed the rubber for Maumee and allowed four hits and seven runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one. Logan Nye and Xavier Lopez Stuber entered the game as relief, each throwing two and a third innings.
Maumee launched two home runs on the day. Chase Maulucci went deep in the first inning, and Jack Becker had a four bagger in the first inning.
The Bobcats totaled 10 hits in the game. Carter Earl, Boston, and Brown all had multiple hits for Bowling Green. Brown, Boston, and Earl each managed two hits to lead the team.
Maumee totaled eight hits. Maulucci and Becker all managed multiple hits for Maumee. Maulucci went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Maumee in hits.

The Bowling Green High School Varsity Softball team lost to Findlay High School, 1-4, on Tuesday (4/4) at Findlay.
Findlay scored four runs in the first inning to the Bobcats’ single run with the rest of the game scoreless.
M. Kramp and Z. Ziems pitched for the Bobcats and combined for three walks, three errors and they gave up seven hits.
Steffes pitched all seven innings for the Trojans and had seven strikeouts, two walks, one error and gave up one run.
Bowling Green’s sole run was by S.Trimpey.
Scoring for Findlay were Endicott, Sprang, Steffes and Langstaff.

A big fifth inning with five runs for the Bowling Green High School Varsity Softball team helped the Bobcats win 8-4 over the Eastwood Eagles Thursday. (3/30)
Bowling Green pitchers Zoe Ziems and Makenna Oates had seven strikeouts, 11 walks and they gave up six hits.
Scoring for the Bobcats were Cassidy Kroegel who had two runs including a home run, and three RBI; Oates had two runs and one RBI; and Ziems, S. Trimpey, S. Konecny , Ziems and B. Wilhelm each had a run.
Eastwood pitchers Cassie Kieper and Mackenzie Hady struck out six, walked eight and gave up nine hits.

The Bowling Green Bobcat Varsity Lacrosse team lost the away conference game Thursday (3/30) against Ottawa Hills by a score of 18-2.
BGHS Bobcats Baseball falls to Defiance
The Bowling Green High School Varsity Baseball team lost to the Defiance Bulldogs Thursday (3/30).
Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound, but the Defiance Bulldogs were just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over the Bobcats. Will Brose started the game for Bowling Green and recorded 18 outs.
Defiance got things moving in the second inning and pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning.
Aidan Kiessling was credited with the victory for the Bulldogs. The righty allowed three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five.
Brose took the loss for Bowling Green. The lefthander went six innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out two.
Brock Hastings, Nate Kress and Braden Loomis each collected one hit to lead the Bobcats.

The Bowling Green Varsity Bobcat Baseball team won 6-3 against Findlay Trojans Varsity 2023 on Wednesday (3/29) after taking the lead late in the game.
The game was tied at one with Bowling Green batting in the top of the fifth when Alec Ross doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.
Findlay Trojans Varsity 2023 opened up scoring in the second inning.
Bowling Green Varsity Bobcats evened things up at one in the top of the third inning. Brock Hastings drove in a run on his triple.
Jack Brown was on the hill for the Bobcats. The righty allowed three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight.
Hastings led the Bobcats with two hits in two at-bats.

Bowling Green Bobcat wrestler qualifies for state; parade planned Thursday (3/9)
Bowling Green Bobcat wrestler Dominick Burch is heading to the Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament this weekend (March 10-12).
Burch (43-5), a senior who wrestles in the 285-pound weight class, was district runner-up in the Division 2 Northwest District Tournament March 3-4 at Norwalk High School. Cohen Lewis (106) placed sixth in the competition, and Daniel Fields (144) and Paul Archer (150) each won a match for the Bobcats.
The team will hold a state send-off parade for Burch Thursday (March 9) starting at the Wood County Fairgrounds at 6 p.m. People who would like to show support for Burch are asked to park in the parking lot at Bowling Green State University’s Perry Fieldhouse, 801 N. Mercer Road, as the parade for Burch will pass by the fieldhouse on the way to Interstate 75.
BG Ice Cat defenseman earns ‘All-Star’ honors
BG Ice Cat 12U player, Bobby Pekarik, was recognized by the International Silver Stick Tournament as one of six players in the division honored with the “All-Star” selection, taking home the award for defenseman.
Pekarik and his team represented the Bowling Green Youth Hockey Association at the International Silver Stick Tournament in Port Huron, Michigan, Jan. 19-22.
Bobcat wrestlers place 6th at NW Sectional tournament (Feb. 25)
The Bowling Green High School Wrestling Team scored 136 points to place sixth out of 12 teams at the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division 2 Northwest Sectional Tournament at Defiance High School on Feb. 25.
Nine of 14 Bobcat wrestlers placed during the tournament, with five wrestlers advancing to the Division 2 Northwest District Tournament. Placing sixth for BG were Xavier Scott (132), Andrew White (165), Jackson Shafer (190), and Jacob Baumgardner (215).
Advancing to districts are Dominick Burch who won the 285-pound weight class; Cohen Lewis (106) and Daniel Fields (144), who placed second; and Paul Archer (150) and Colton Keefe (157), who placed fourth.
The district tournament starts at 4 p.m. Friday at Norwalk High School.

The Bowling Green High School wrestling team placed fourth as a team in the Northern Lakes League Tournament held at Northview High School on Feb. 18.

Senior Night for the Bowling Green High School wrestling team was all aglow Wednesday night
(2/8) at the high school. There was a record-size crowd for the tri-meet and spectators were
gifted glow necklaces and glow sticks to support the team and its seniors.
The Bobcats beat Port Clinton 61-13 with wins by Cohen Lewis, Jacob U’Ren, Xavier Scott,
Landon Deiter, Daniel Fields, Paul Archer, Dylan Firsdon, Andrew White, Jackson Shafer, Jacob
Baumgardner and Dominick Burch.
Bowling Green also beat Bellevue 40-34. Winning for the Bobcats were Lewis, Scott, Fields,

Wrestlers do well at recent matches
The Bowling Green High School Bobcat Wrestling Team has had success in several recent matches.
On Wednesday (Feb. 1), they beat Otsego 56-18 and lost to a talented St. John’s squad 34-29 in duals. Cohen Lewis, Xavier Scott, Landon Deiter, Jackson Shafer and Dominick Burch each were 2-0 on the night.
On Jan. 28, the team competed in the Joe Szymzack Duals at Elmwood High School. The Bobcats went 3-2 in duals and placed fifth as a team. Going undefeated (5-0) for the day were Daniel Fields, Jacob Baumgardner and Burch. Colton Keefe and Scott were 4-1.
At the Van Buren Invitational on Jan. 23, the Bobcats placed seventh out of 32 teams.
Fields was the Van Buren Invitational Champion at 144 pounds. Cohen Lewis placed third at 106 pounds, and Deiter at 138 pounds, placed fifth.
BG Football vs Napoleon
Bobcat football was pounded by the Napoleon Wildcats Friday night, 35-0.
Napoleon scored one touchdown in the first quarter, two in the second, then one each in the third and fourth quarters.
Stats for BG show Marcus Hammer rushing for 64 yards, Kadin Shank for 15 yards, Nick Powers for 11, Ashton Studer for 10, and Reece Rath for 6 yards.

Boys and Girls Cross Country compete in NLL Championship
Bowling Green Girls Cross Country finished third, and the Boys Cross Country team finished fourth in the very muddy course at the NLL Championship meet Saturday at Whiteford Valley Golf Course on Ottawa Lake, Michigan, hosted by Sylvania Northview.
Aaron Partin was an NLL runner up.
The top 7 earned 1st team All NLL honors, those finishing 8-14 earned 2nd Team All NLL honors, and those coming in 15-21 earned 3rd team All NLL honors.
Bobcat girls had four in the top 21, and the boys had three in the top 21.

Bobcat football trounced Maumee, 43-0, Friday night.
BG scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. Nick Powers scored on a 53-yard run. Marcus Hammer scored after a 7-yard run, then again after a 5-yard run.
In the second quarter, the Bobcats added to their points with a 32-yard field goal by Ethan Warner.
In the third quarter, Marcus Hammer made a 25-yard run for a touchdown. Kadin Shank threw a 29-yard pass to Nick Powers for another touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, the Bobcats scored again, when Marcus Hammer made a 49-yard run.
Ethan Warner also had four good kicks.

Logan Thor scored with a 4-yard run in the first quarter. Aidan Schmidt scored with a 1-yard run, and Thor threw a 15-yard pass to Andrew Kineske to add 14 points in the second quarter for Northview. The final touchdown for Northview came in the fourth quarter when Thor threw a 7-yard pass to Gino Carlo.
For the Bobcats, Kadin Shank rushed a total of 89 yards, Marcus Hammer ran 69 yards, Ashton Studer ran 2 yards, and Nick Powers ran 1 yard.

In the first quarter, Bobcat’s Nick Powers scored a touchdown with a 6-yard run.
Springfield responded in the second quarter with Brandon Langston scoring on a 10-yard run.
BG followed up with Kadin Shank scoring on a 10-yard run. And Langston scored again with a 76-yard run.
In the fourth quarter, Bobcat Nick Powers ran 6 yards to score the winning touchdown.

Bowling Green football lost 35-0 to Perrysburg Friday evening.
The Yellow Jackets’ Conner Walendzak completed two touchdown runs in the first quarter. TJ Takats made a 21-yard pass to Jack Borer for a touchdown in the second quarter, followed by another touchdown run by Walendzak.
In the third quarter, Takats threw a 22-yard pass to Borer to score again. Bibb was good for the extra point each time.
The Bobcats rushed for a total of 125 yards, including Kadin Shank with 46 yards, Marcus Hammer with 45, Evan Brandt with 19, Reece Rath with 11, Ashton Studer with 3, and Nick Powers with 1.
Shank passed for 21 yards. Receiving passes were Hammer for 5 yards, Isaiah Cook for 10 yards, and Brandt for 6 yards.

Bobcat football suffered a sound defeat Friday, losing to Findlay, 49-0.
In the first quarter, Ben Ireland threw a 19-yard pass to Justin Roth for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Alexander Theis made a 1-yard run to score. Isaac James scored the next two touchdowns with a 20-yard run, followed by a 1-yard run.
In the third quarter, Montgomery passed to Ireland for a touchdown, and then made a 51-yard pass to Max Roth to score again.
In the fourth quarter, Jackson Lane scored on a 22-yard run. Robinson was good for each kick after the touchdowns.
Bowling Green ran for a total of 213 yards, with Marcus Hammer rushing 105 yards, Kadin Shank rushing 67 yards, Nick Powers running 15 yards, Reece Rath for 9 yards, and Peyton Holan for 7 yards.
Kadin Shank completed one pass, and Evan Brandt received it.

Bobcat Boys won the team championship at the Norm Bray Invitational hosted by Fremont Ross at Walsh Park on Saturday, Aug. 28.
The boys won the 15 team field with 89 points followed by Anthony Wayne with 93 and Findlay with 95.

The Bobcats secured a 4th place finish with 102 pts. at the Norm Bray Invitational hosted by Fremont Ross at Walsh Park on Saturday, Aug. 28. Eastwood was 1st in the 12 team field with 66, followed by Findlay with 71, AW with 75.

Bowling Green football team was overpowered by Eastwood Friday evening, 42-7.
The Eagles scored in the first quarter with Case Boos running 36 yards for a touchdown. Rothenbuhler was good for the extra point.
Eastwood scored four touchdowns in the second quarter, with Koprowski-Kistner making a 2-yard touchdown run, Case Boos running a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown, Lake Boos making a 65-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Cherry, and Case Boos making a 67-yard punt return. Rothenbuhler was good for the extra point on all four touchdowns.
The Bobcats scored in the second quarter, with Marcus Hammer making a 5-yard touchdown run, and Ethan Warner making the extra point.
Eastwood scored one more time in the third quarter, with Koprowski-Kistner making a 2-yard touchdown run, and Rothenbuhler making the extra point.
Marcus Hammer rushed 84 yards in the game, and Kadin Shank ran 14 yards. Kadin Shank completed three passes for a total of 67 yards.
Receiving were Ja’ceous Shannon for 43 yards, Evan Brandt for 14 yards, and Isiah Cook for 10 yards.
