Over the snowy weekend, Bowling Green Police Division issued 62 parking tickets, with the majority of them being for vehicles parked on designated snow streets in the city, according to BGPD Deputy Chief Adam Skaff. Two vehicles were towed so city snowplows could get through.
The snowfall in Bowling Green was recorded at 10 inches.
The city declared a snow emergency, effective 9 a.m. on Sunday. That declaration means vehicles must be moved off designated snow streets and from cul-de-sacs within two hours of the emergency declaration. Vehicles not removed are subject to being towed and/or issued a citation.
Snow streets are marked with blue and white signs.
Even those who do not live on snow streets are asked to remove vehicles from the streets whenever possible. Doing so helps crews remove snow along the roads quickly and safely. Follow along with snow removal updates and more on the BG SKnow Winter Weather Dashboard.
