Ohio Hunger Dialogues will be held at BGSU on Friday Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 9.
The event is open to all stakeholders interested in addressing hunger and food insecurity in Ohio (and bordering states).
The keynote address, “Erase the Stigma – Change the Culture” will be delivered by Clancy Harrison, a registered dietitian, TEDx speaker, international speaker, and author. She will speak Friday from 8:45-10 a.m.
On her web page she writes: “I’ve made it my mission to challenge the way we approach food insecurity in the US. To make progress, we need to erase the stigma surrounding lack of access to food and help more Americans realize that none of us can be free when even one of us struggles with hunger.”
Friday’s activities will focus on research, evaluation, professional practice, and policy with an emphasis on our faculty, staff, and community audiences.
Saturday, September 9th will create spaces for students to share best practices, program examples, and creative ideas.
