In an email to patrons, Bill Mathis, dean of the College of Musical Arts, lamented that usually the college would be deep into its schedule of performances by now.
In this year of COVID-19, though, action is just starting to stir on the university’s stages.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Cellist Brian Snow and pianist Robert Satterlee will perform the first Faculty Artist Series recital of the semester. On the program are three sonatas for cello and piano by Ludwig Von Beethoven, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth. The recital will be livestreamed from Bryan Recital Hall.
The faculty recital series continues through October.
On Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., the School of Art will present “Sexual Assault: The Conversation Continues,” a virtual discussion with participant/survivors in the exhibition, “Seen + Heard: Conversations About Sexual Assault, Abuse and Rape” on display through Sept. 25. The WebEx event will feature a panel discussion with the photographer Honey Lazar and 10 of the subjects whose stories she documented with images and audio for “SEEN + HEARD.” The panel will be moderated by Tonya Rider, BGSU Title IX investigator.
Also, on Thursday the Creative Writing Program reading seriescontinues at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel with distinguished alumnus Dustin Parsons.
