Bowling Green State University’s Department of Theatre and Film presents Adam Bock’s comedy “The Drunken City” over two weekends, Oct. 17-26.
“The Drunken City” takes place when Marnie and her two best friends, Melissa and Linda, plan a night out in the big city for Marnie’s bachelorette party. When they encounter strangers, Eddie and Frank, everything begins to fall apart. “The Drunken City” explores friendship, marriage and honesty, and weaves a story about the challenges of facing who we really are. As noted by Samuel French Publishing, “‘The Drunken City’ is a wildly theatrical take on the mystique of marriage and the ever-shifting nature of love and identity in a city that never sleeps.”
BGSU doctoral candidate Dennis Sloan directs the production, assisted by undergraduate students Cameron Endly and Lauren Lash and under the supervision of faculty adviser Sara Lipinski Chambers. The production features choreography by undergraduate students Noah Estep and Anna Parchem, with an original musical composition by theatre doctoral student Dan Cullen.
“The Drunken City” cast includes Michael Cuschieri, Emily Dyer, Brian Farstvedt, Erica Harmon, Adam Hensley and Megan Kome. The production is stage managed by undergraduate student Zach Sayre and features scenic and lighting design by Steve Boone, costume design by Margaret McCubbin, sound design by Jason Walton, properties by Kelly Mangan and intimacy consultation from Mandy Rausch.
