BGSU to hold 18th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday, Jan. 19

Approximately 450 people packed the ballroom for BGSU's 16th annual MLK Jr. Day of Service in 2024.

Bowling Green State University will hold its 18th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, on campus, in the city of Bowling Green, and in various northwest Ohio communities.

Hosted by the C. Raymond Marvin Center for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement, the event aims to empower BGSU students, faculty, and staff to create public good by giving back through service activities while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Since its inception, the BGSU event has helped over 400 community partners, with more than 6,700 students volunteering and a combined total of 32,000 service hours logged by learning community members.

Volunteer check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union. Volunteers will leave for their service locations at 10 a.m.
