The following statement has been issued by the Black Swamp Arts Festival.

For over three decades, the Black Swamp Arts Festival has stood as a vibrant pillar of creativity and community in Bowling Green, Ohio. This three-day celebration of music and art brings together thousands of attendees, artists, and performers, showcasing the incredible talents of our region. However, this spirited festival cannot thrive without dedicated individuals at the helm.

We are specifically reaching out for passionate volunteers to fill two pivotal board positions: Development and Visual Arts.

The BSAF has been a cherished tradition for 31 years, and it is vital that we continue to uphold the standards of excellence that have made it a success. Filling the Development and Visual Arts positions on our board is essential to ensure we have the leadership necessary to carry our mission forward.

The Development committee plays a significant role in soliciting funding and expressing gratitude to our donors. Without dedicated members, we risk losing vital financial support that keeps our festival alive.

The Visual Arts committee shapes the aesthetic landscape of the festival, coordinating a large part of our festival, the artists.

Anyone who has attended the Black Swamp Arts Festival, knows that it is more than just an event; it is a community gathering that fosters connections, celebrates diversity, and showcases the talents of local and regional artists.

Filling these board positions will allow us to expand our outreach, ensuring that everyone, including emerging artists, has a platform to share their work.

The Development committee can build relationships with local businesses and sponsors, while the Visual Arts committee can curate inclusive and diverse art experiences that resonate with our community.

New ideas and fresh perspectives are essential for growth. By filling these positions, we welcome individuals who bring unique skills and insights, enabling the BSAF to evolve and adapt to the changing landscape of arts and culture. The Development committee can explore innovative funding opportunities, while the Visual Arts committee can introduce exciting new programs, such as interactive art installations or collaborations with local schools. Together, we can ensure that our festival remains dynamic and relevant.

The Black Swamp Arts Festival is a celebration of the arts, and it is imperative that our board reflects the diversity of our community. By filling the Development and Visual Arts positions, we can ensure that our festival continues to represent a broad spectrum of artistic voices and cultural experiences. This inclusivity not only enriches our festival but also fosters understanding and respect among attendees and participants. By contributing your time and expertise to the BSAF, you are investing in the future of arts and culture in our community. The Black Swamp Arts Festival is a celebration of creativity, community, and connection.

However, we cannot continue this journey without your help. We invite you to step forward and volunteer for the Development and Visual Arts board positions. Your passion, creativity, and commitment can help us maintain the rich legacy of the BSAF and ensure its success for years to come.

Should you have interest in stepping forward in the continuing success of the best festival around, please email us at bsafchair@gmail.com.

Together, let’s continue the tradition of excellence that has defined the Black Swamp Arts Festival for over 31 years. Join us in this vital role, and help us shape the future of our beloved festival.
