Bob Evans applies for liquor permit in BG

Bob Evans restaurant in Bowling Green

Monday’s Bowling Green City Council meeting was full of twists and surprises – not the least being the request for a new liquor permit in the city – from Bob Evans.

City Council was informed that Bob Evans restaurant, at 1726 E. Wooster St., had applied for a permit that would allow the serving of wine and mixed beverages.

That information brought an audible murmur from those in the council chambers.

“I too am intrigued to know what is happening at Bob Evans,” Council President Mark Hollenbaugh said, following it up with a question of whether red or white wine goes with chicken fried steak.

Liquor licenses in Ohio are awarded at the state level from the Department of Commerce’s Division of Liquor Control.
