Bobcat Soccer
Bowling Green Bobcat soccer players were honored by the Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association as all-district players.
On the men’s side: senior Isaac Erdody, 12, was named to the second team while senior Alex Landgraf and juniors Jonathan Sayer and Ethan Warner were honorable mention.
On the women’s side: senior Sydney Baer was named to the second team while sophomores Macy Ash and Cece Marovich and Carrina Wiseman-Esparza, were honorable mention.
Bobcat Soccer
The Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association (NWOSSCA) will hold the 18th Annual Senior All-District Games on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Napoleon High School’s Buckenmeyer Stadium, located at 701 Briarheath Avenue, Napoleon.
Representing Bowling Green’s women’s squad will be Sydney Baer.
Representing the Bobcat men will be Isaac Erdody.
Also, BGHS graduate Cassie Memmer, now the coach for Toledo Central Catholic, will be among the coaches for the women’s game.
Seniors who have been selected to the 2020 All-District squads will play in these annual season ending matches.
The women’s game will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 3 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on BCSN.
Bobcat Football
Bowling Green football held on for a victory at Southview, 19-14, Friday night.
Quarterback Eli Brown completed 9 for 12 passes, for 123 yards. Ryan Jackson scored touchdowns on both receptions.
One of Brown’s 19 carries was a 49-yard touchdown. He ran a total of 69 yards in the game.
Bobcat Cross Country
Bowling Green Boys won the Northwest Ohio, Division 1 District 1 title on Saturday for the first time since 2015 by narrowly defeating Perrysburg 65-67.
Both teams will advance to the OHSAA Regional competition on Saturday at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin.
The Bobcats were led by a 2,3,4 finish by Gavin Lammers(16:23), Elijah Kendrick (16:24) and Aaron Partin (16:44) respectively. Rounding out the top 5 for the Bobcats were Kirby Bucks in 23rd and Thomas Rigel in 33rd. Jackson Krueger came in 34th, and Evan Romero came in 45th place.
BG will race Perrysburg, Ashland, Toledo St. Francis, Sylvania Southview, Anthony Wayne, and Tiffin Columbian in the Regional Meet. The top 2 teams and top 8 individuals will advance to the OHSAA State Meet on Nov. 7.
The Bowling Green girls closed their season on Saturday with a strong race finishing 5th in the Division 1 District 2 race at the Owens Campus in Findlay. Sarah Davis led the bobcats in 14th with a time of (20:48), followed by teammates Hannah Judson in 20th, Olivia Zmarzly in 26th, Gillian Fruth in 30th, and Kaitlyn Applegate in 39th. Savannah Janes placed 47th, and Jayla Parker came in 62th place.
BG Football
Bobcat football lost to Parma Heights Holy Name in the Division III playoff game Friday night.
Bowling Green took a lead in the second quarter, 21-17, but was unable to score in the second half, losing the game 24-21.
Quarterback Eli Brown was six for 12 passing for 79 yards. Brown scored a touchdown on a 49-yard run in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Ryan Jackson scored a touchdown on a 5-yard run. And Cayden Seither scored a touchdown after a 21-yard pass from Brown. Seither ran 23 times for 120 yards. Brown ran 12 times for 64 yards.

BGHS Football beats Defiance
Bobcat football dominated Defiance, 56-13, in Friday’s playoff game.
Bowling Green ruled the ground, with 339 rushing yards on 32 attempts. The Bobcats scored seven of their eight touchdowns before halftime.
Quarterback Eli Brown was 5 for 8 passing for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
Cayden Seither ran 11 times for 97 yards, scoring three touchdowns. Nick Powers ran 3 times for 67 yards, scoring one touchdown. Marcus Hammer ran 3 times for 28 yards for one touchdown.
There were two passing touchdowns, one scored by Evan Brandt and the other by Nick Powers.
Kicker Ethan Warner was perfect, scoring 8 points.

BGHS quarterback Eli Brown again fueled the Bobcat offense to victory over Napoleon, 19-14, Friday night.
In the first quarter, Brown ran a 55-yard touchdown. In the second quarter, he completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Luke Johnson.
Bowling Green’s other touchdown was scored by Cayden Seither, who made a 10-yard run in the first quarter.
Brown ran for 160 yards in 23 attempts, and completed nine passes for 98 yards in 12 attempts.
Napoleon drew within 5 in the fourth quarter, but was not able to overcome the Bobcats.

Bowling Green took an early lead in the first quarter when quarterback Eli Brown ran for an 82-yard touchdown.
Bowling Green’s only other score came in the second quarter when Brown completed a 54-yard pass to Ryan Jackson. That brought the Bobcats to within 3 points of Perrysburg. But it was all Perrysburg after that.

Bobcat football on a winning streak
For the fourth week in a row, Bowling Green’s football team outran its competition – beating Springfield 35-2 Friday night.
Quarterback Eli Brown was again the leading rusher for the Bobcats, with 178 yards and 21 carries, scoring one touchdown.
Ryan Jackson scored three touchdowns, two on six-yard runs, one in the first and one in the third quarters. He also scored one touchdown off a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.
Nick Powers ran for 13 yards and scored one touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Springfield’s only score was a safety in the second quarter.

The Bowling Green Boys Cross Country Team took first place this past Saturday at a 10-team invitational at Whiteford Valley Golf Course hosted by Northview.
Bowling Green’s Gavin Lammers finished in first place with a time of 16:08.50
Elijah Kendrick came in third place with a time of 16:18.40. Aaron Partin, came in sixth at 16:49.90.

Bowling Green football held on for a 28-27 victory over rival Anthony Wayne Friday night to remain undefeated for the season.
Quarterback Eli Brown had a spectacular night on the ground, carrying 20 times for 229 yards and two touchdowns. Brown was also five for 10 passing for 40 yards.
Cayden Seither carried 13 times for 52 yards and one touchdown.
Defenseman Michael Becker intercepted a pass and returned it for 21 yards for a touchdown.
Anthony Wayne scored with 2:14 left in the game, and could have tied it, but the extra point kick was no good.

BG sweeps singles in 3-2 victory at Clyde
On Friday, in the first ever meeting between Bowling Green and Clyde, Lucy Busselle, Libby Barnett, and Hannah Mathey won their singles flights.
For Mathey, it was her first varsity win. Both Busselle and Barnett won in a third set tiebreaker.
With both teams cheering, freshman Libby Barnett secured the last victory with a thrilling come from behind 10-4 tiebreak after being down 0-3.
