Next week, the Bowling Green Community Foundation will be awarding grants totaling $61,523 to local non-profit organizations for 2025. The grants are funded each year through the generosity of community contributions.
Now in its 31st year, the foundation will recognize the 18 local organizations receiving this year’s grants during a reception on Jan. 13 at the Simpson Garden Park Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green.
The reception will begin with food at 5:30 p.m., and the program will follow at 6:15 p.m. Grants will be given to:
1BookBG: $5,000 to purchase one book per child for every Bowling Green area student in kindergarten through fifth grade.
City of Bowling Green Bicycle Safety Commission: $800 for bicycle safety assembly for all third graders in BG schools.
Black Swamp Players: $1,700 to purchase projector and screen for movies on the big screen.
Bowling Green Arts Council: $2,500 to fund mural labor and material in alleyway.
BG Dog Parks: $2,255 to partially fund hydration stations at the new dog park located in Ridge Park.
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Foundation: $3,263 to purchase an external defibrillator (AED) for the Simpson building.
Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group: $7,500 for fall clean up and Rock the Block improvement projects for veterans currently living in BG.
Children’s Resource Center: $2,658 to purchase equipment necessary to allow 10 clinical staff to implement biofeedback in their therapy and counseling practices.
Falcon Food Pantry: $1,387 to create a publicly available digital exhibit focused on food insecurity in BG and Wood County (past and present).
Friends of the Wood County Parks: $1,483 to purchase spinning yarn equipment for Carter Historic Farm.
Habitat for Humanity of Wood County: $3,750 to purchase pallet racking for ReStore.
Horizon Youth Theatre: $3,750 to partially fund traveling theatrical lighting system.
Kenwood Elementary Music Department: – $6,365 to purchase 18 posture chairs, chair rag, Tubano set (3), djembe and bass xylophone.
NAMI of Wood County: $2,500 to purchase mental health guides, resource booklets for 50 military veterans and their families.
Wood County Agricultural Society: $5,525 to establish and implement Farm-To-Market educational learning activities for children and their families attending Wood County Fair.
Wood County Educational Service Center: $3,750 for eight different enrichment experiences for 125 BG Bobcat STARS program students in the summer.
Wood County Hospital: $6,700 for assisting low income new mothers and families with diapers, wipes, baby beds and medications.
Wood County District Public Library: $635 from a foundation fund set up to purchase library visual media each year.
