Butch Tyson

Butch (Terry) E. Tyson, age 77, of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.  He was born on September 17, 1947, in Bowling Green to the late Edward F. & Shirley E. (Benschoter) Tyson.  Butch married Judy Lemmerbrock on November 19, 1971, at Hope Lutheran Church in Bowling Green.

Surviving Butch is his loving wife of 52 years, Judy; daughter, Tara (Scott) Milligan of Bradner; sons, Kory (Chrissie) Tyson of Wayne, Kyle (Sara) Tyson of Portage; sister, Linda Holman; grandchildren, Bailee, Rilee (Noah), Maycee, Lucy, Willie, Ethan, Sierra, Kiersten (Tommy), Ava; great-grandchildren, Tony, Adalyn, and one great-granddaughter to be born in January.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Shirley.

Butch was a 1965 graduate of Elmwood High School, served his country proudly in the United States Army, and was a member of the New Hope Christian Church near Wayne.  He owned and operated Win Construction for 40+ years until his sons, Kory & Kyle took over.  Butch had a passion for gardening.  After work most days Butch would enjoy coming home to work in his garden while consuming a few Old Milwaukee’s.  In his spare time, he enjoyed arrowhead hunting, walking, and anything to do with mudding, mud trucks, and muscle cars.  Butch started the Wood County Four Wheelers in the late 1970’s and enjoyed passing that hobby down to his children.  Over the years, he could always be spotted easily in his favorite Old Red Ford Pickup.  Butch could be described as “One of a Kind” and will always be remembered for his generosity and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.

Butch’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Care Givers at Park Cliffe Memory Care and Elara Hospice for the wonderful care Butch received.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne.  Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Christian Church or Elara Caring Hospice of Toledo.  Online condolences can be sent to Butch’s family at www.barndtfuneralhome.org.
