The Wood County Committee on Aging is currently scheduling its cholesterol screening clinics for July. Screenings are available to residents of Wood County who are 25 years of age or older.
The cost is $20 for those 60 and older, and $25 for those 25-59. These screenings require an appointment and pretest instructions.
The screening panel includes: Total Cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol), Triglycerides, Total Cholesterol/HDL ratio and a blood glucose level. Results will be immediately available and discussed with clients by a registered nurse.
The screenings are scheduled for the Wood County Senior Center in Bowling Green, from 9 to 11 a.m., on Friday, July 11, on Wednesday, July 23, and on Thursday, July 31. Screenings will also be offered at the Perrysburg Senior Center, from 9 to 11 a.m., on Friday, July 18.
