Leah Hetrick, director of legal education and member engagement at the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, will present “Small-Scale Food Business Guide” for the September CIFT Agribusiness Forum.
The program is available in person at the Northwest Ohio Cooperative Kitchen, 13737 Middleton Pike, Bowling Green, or online on Sept. 18.
Hetrick will present an in-depth look at the regulations that guide small-scale food businesses in Ohio. She will provide a comprehensive overview of federal and state requirements for selling products such as raw meat, dairy, eggs, baked goods, cottage foods, fruits and vegetables, honey and more. The session will provide valuable, actionable guidance for food business owners just starting out or those who want to ensure they are meeting current regulations.
Hetrick, who grew up in Perrysburg, has built a career at the intersection of agriculture and law. Before joining the Ohio Farm Bureau in 2023, she served as chief legal assistant to Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose. She holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Ohio State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo.
