City of Bowling Green announces holiday schedule

Through the end of December, some city building hours and schedules will be altered due to the Christmas and New Year holidays. Below is a list of changes.

Building hours

  • The city’s administration building will be closed 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18.
  • The city’s administration building will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and again, at noon, on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
  • All non-24-hour city facilities will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Community center hours

  • Wednesday, Dec. 24: 7 a.m. – noon
  • Thursday, Dec. 25: Closed
  • Wednesday, Dec. 31: 7 a.m. – noon
  • Thursday, Jan. 1: Closed

Residents, whose refuse and recycling collection occurs on Thursdays, are also reminded that their curbside refuse and recycling collection will run on a one-day delay during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday refuse and recycling routes will not be impacted by the holiday schedule.

The annual Christmas tree recycling collection will begin on Monday, Jan. 5. Tree collection is not connected to the regular refuse and recycling schedule.
