The City of Bowling Green is hiring entry-level police officers to fill multiple vacancies. Applications are due by March 15.
Candidates must possess one of the following:
- an associate degree or 96 quarter hours or 64 semester hours toward a bachelor’s degree, or
- a current Ohio Peace Officer Training Council certification, or
- be currently enrolled in an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy program with a completion date prior to the appointment; proof of enrollment is required at the time of application, or
- have two or more years of active-duty military service within the previous 24 months of application and be honorably discharged.
Applicants also must complete and pass the law enforcement tests offered through the National Testing Network. Test scores must be valid by the application deadline. Upon completion of the exam, scores are automatically available to the City of Bowling Green’s Department of Human Resources.
The city will contact candidates who have passed all portions of the NTN examination and attained a weighted score of at least 70, and they will be scheduled for the physical ability test on March 18, 29 or 25. Individuals who pass the NTN exams, submit a completed application and pass the physical ability test by March 25 will have their scores submitted to the civil service commission for certification.
Additionally, in order to be considered for the process, candidates must complete the public safety self-assessment and the NTN personal history questionnaire by the application deadline.
