The Cocoon, Wood County’s only comprehensive domestic and sexual violence agency, has received a grant award from the Westfield Insurance Foundation.
Westfield Insurance is committed to helping friends and neighbors in need. Through the Westfield Insurance Foundation, the business works to improve the safety and stability of communities.
At the recommendation of the First Insurance Group of Bowling Green, The Cocoon was nominated for and has been awarded a grant in the amount of $6,500. These unrestricted funds will go toward supporting vital programs like emergency safe shelter, 24/7 access to trained advocates, and support groups.
Community partnerships are crucial for organizations like The Cocoon to thrive and support survivors of abuse. With these partnerships, The Cocoon can provide services to over 800 survivors and their children every year, completely free of cost. By offering no-cost services, The Cocoon is actively removing barriers for those seeking to break free from abuse.
