Several residential street paving projects are set to begin next week in Bowling Green.
The portion of the 2022 paving projects associated with the use of ARPA funds and the paving of residential roads, is set to begin Monday, July 11. The removal and replacement of curbs, ADA ramps, and certain sections of sidewalk has already begun, and contractors plan to begin milling streets, next week, in the following order:
- Monday, July 11: Portions of Frazee, Leroy, East and West Reed streets.
- Tuesday, July 12 into Wednesday, July 13: North Prospect Street.
- Wednesday, July 13 into Thursday, July 14: North Enterprise Street.
Currently, paving crews plan to be on site Thursday, July 14, to replace the asphalt. This schedule is dependent on weather and progress of work.
Mayor Mike Aspacher and City Council previously allocated approximately $3 million of American Rescue Plan Act funds toward paving of residential roads throughout the city. This will occur over a three-year period – 2022, 2023 and 2024.
In 2022, portions of the following roads are scheduled to be paved as part of this project: Clough, North and South Enterprise, West Evers, Frazee, Lehman, Leroy, Mitchell, Pike, North Prospect, East and West Reed, Ridge, and South Summit.
The contract completion date for this portion of the project is October 2022.
