Several Wood County agencies are joining in a central location to provide Wood County fairgoers with activities, displays and conversations.
The tent hosts include the Soil and Water Conservation District, Auditor’s and Treasurer’s offices, Veterans Service Office, Developmental Disabilities, Emergency Management, Health Department and Park District. The green space, with a tent and welcome signs, will be located across from the Republican Party building, and between the Lake Boosters and former Bowling Green Christian Academy Elephant Ear buildings.
The Soil & Water Conservation District will have information on conservation practices, sign up to receive notices about the annual tree seedling sale and fish sale, and the opportunity to pick up a seed packet for a butterfly garden. On Wednesday, Aug. 2 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., children are invited for a fun, hands-on activity, and on Thursday, Aug. 3, fairgoers can bring technical questions to the district technician.
Staff from the Auditor’s and Treasurer’s offices will be available to answer questions about property tax reduction, real estate and manufactured home tax.
Veterans are encouraged to stop by the Veterans Service Office table to complete a questionnaire and receive a coupon for a free 4-H milkshake.
Fairgoers are welcome to visit with staff and volunteers from the various Wood County agencies to learn what programs and services are available for Wood County residents and landowners.
