Wood County has reported eight new cases of COVID-19 and one additional death from the virus since Thursday.
The county is now up to 13,333 confirmed and probable cases from COVID, and 229 deaths since last March, according to the Monday, July 26, update from the Wood County Health Department.
The number of people hospitalized from COVID since last March has dropped from 658 to 657. The decrease was recorded after a case interview found the initial reported address of a COVID case was incorrect. The individual did not live in Wood County, so the case was transferred to the correct county of residence.
As of today, 52.99% of Wood County’s population has been vaccinated. That’s 69,320 people who have gotten at least their first vaccine dose.
