An 82-year-old Bowling Green woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash Thursday (Oct. 6).
Sally Davenport died today (Oct. 7) after being transported to the hospital with injuries sustained in the crash.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office the two-vehicle crash occurred at 1:06 p.m. on U.S. Route 6 near Sand Ridge Road in Plain Township.
A Freightliner semi tractor with an attached trailer, operated by Labelle D. James, 22, of Maumee, was traveling northwest when the Honda Accord sedan, operated by Davenport, crossed the center line and struck the freightliner head on.
James was not injured.
Assisting the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on location was the City of Bowling Green Fire Department and EMS, and the Ohio Department of Transportation as well as Hammers Towing and Flag City Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
